Terms of Service
The short deal: everything on MemoryGames is free, provided as-is, with no warranty. Play as much as you like; just don't misuse the service or claim our content as your own. The details follow.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing MemoryGames at memorygames.app (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date at the top of this page changes when we do, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
2. What the Service is
MemoryGames is a free collection of browser-based memory games, interactive guides and articles about memory techniques and the science behind them. The Service is provided for entertainment and personal education. It requires no account — your progress is stored in your own browser and never transmitted to us.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes attempting to disrupt or overload it, scraping it at volumes that degrade it for others, or using it in any way that violates applicable law. You may link to any page freely. You may play, embed and share the games personally; you may not resell, rebrand, or present the Service or substantial parts of its content as your own product.
4. Intellectual property and credits
The games, guides, articles, design and code of MemoryGames are our work and are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. The psychological tasks the games are based on (digit span, the Corsi block test, n-back and the like) are long-standing public science; our implementations of them are ours. Chess piece graphics in Chess Snapshot are the "Neo" piece set by Chess.com, reproduced from its public theme assets; chess positions are drawn from famous recorded games and classic patterns. Trademarks mentioned on the site belong to their respective owners.
5. Educational and health disclaimer
MemoryGames is an entertainment and educational product. Nothing on the Service is medical advice, psychological assessment, or a diagnosis. Scores in the games are game scores — they are informative about your practice on these specific tasks, and they are not clinical measurements. If you have concerns about memory, attention or cognitive health, please consult a qualified healthcare professional. Our articles describe research honestly, including its limitations, and should not be taken as personalized advice.
6. Your data and responsibility for it
Because all progress is stored locally in your browser, you are solely responsible for backing it up (Settings offers an export) and for what happens to it if you clear browser data or lose access to the device. We cannot recover lost local progress — there is nothing on our servers to recover it from. See the privacy policy for the full picture of data handling.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available and improving, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may add, change, or remove features or content at any time. If advertising appears on the Service, ads will always be clearly distinguishable from content, per our privacy policy.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for any loss of data stored in your browser. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the Service — which is zero, because it is free.
9. Contact
Questions about these terms are welcome via the contact page or by email at hello@memorygames.app.
